Wally's Bar Exterior Gets Mural and Color - Interior Remains a Mystery

Beloved dive bar Wally's Mills Avenue Liquors (Website) at 1001 N. Mills Ave in the Mills50 District is getting ready for its grand re-opening with a physical refresh, both inside and out.

The exterior has received a colorful new paint job. A mid-century inspired mural has been painted on the front and a portion of the right side of the one story building.  The mural is a series of peacock feather-like shapes in muted greens, reds and blues. The building’s trim has been covered in a mossy green and the original signage, exposed unpainted brick, and tiled front porch remain unchanged.

The interior remains a mystery except for one thing. The designer confirmed with The Daily City that the famous wallpaper is still in tact and on the walls. The rest was being kept a secret to allow for a big reveal moment at the grand re-opening.

The re-opening is scheduled for May 31st according to the bar’s website.
