Conn's HomePlus (Website), a specialty retailer of furniture, mattresses, home appliances, and consumer electronics, will be opening a location in the Colonial Plaza shopping center at 2628 E Colonial Drive (MAP) according to a current Weingarten Realty online listing and City permits.
The store will be located next door to Marshall's in a 42,376 SF space formerly occupied by Floor and Decor.
Conn's HomePlus is"one of the top consumer goods retailers in the country, with more than $1 billion in revenue and more than 4,500 employees across the southern United States," according to its website.
The chain announced September 2019 they'd be entering Florida with plans to build 40 locations in the state.
A 413,000-square-foot logistics distribution center for Conn's is scheduled to open August 2020 in Lakeland, Florida.
The opening of the Conn's HomePlus Lakeland distribution center will create approximately 50 new full-time jobs, with an estimated 720 additional statewide jobs generated as the retail showrooms open.
The first Florida showroom (location TBA) is slated to open September 2020.
On the Weingarten Realty listing, Conn's is listed under Current Tenants and the logo for the retailer appears on the site plan. The listing is advertising three vacant spaces in the shopping center: a 3,466 SF space on the second floor of the building containing PetCo, a 6,664 SF space between Hair Cuttery and H&R Block, and a 1,900 SF space between Total Wine & More and Olea Mezze Grille.
The Daily City reached out to Weingarten Realty and Conn's for confirmation but did not receive a response.
