May 12 + 13

  1. Get out of Orlando, Mom! Take her to Plant City for pick-your-own-peaches, live music, craft vendors, kids fun, peach cider and wine and more at the 4th Annual Peach Festival Saturday 8am-6pm.

  2. Traipse through rows and rows of artist tents on the shores of beautiful Lake Morton in downtown Lakeland during the annual Mayfaire by-the-Lake Art Festival. It's known for being one of the largest and oldest outdoor art festivals in Central Florida. It takes place Saturday and Sunday 9am-4pm.

  3. Did your Mom marry a new man and have kids with him waaaay younger than you? Take her and him and them to the Disney on Ice show “Dare to Dream” at the Amway Center Saturday at 7.

  4. If mom watches RuPaul’s Drag Race then she’d love Drag Brunch performed by a bunch of local queens SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL QUEENS!!! (dramatic pause). She'll get that if she watches the show. Take her to Drag Brunch at Senor Frogs on I-Drive Sunday 11 to 2.

  5. You Mom doesn't have a soul if she doesn't enjoy seeing bunches of baby owls and other baby birds of prey during the Baby Owl Shower at Audubon Center for Birds of Prey Saturday 10am-2pm

  6. If you’d rather spend your money making Mom laugh than making Mom fat, go to the Mike Birbiglia Show at The Plaza in the Milk District Saturday at 8.

  7. If Mom is a shopper than buy this: the DeLand Indie Market is a curated shopping event with food and live music held 4 times a year showcasing Artists, Boutiques, Vintage and Handcrafted Vendors. Take her to The Deland Indie Market at Artisan Alley Sunday 11 to 5.

  8. Does your mom love her dog more than you? Then choose The Hammered Lamb’s Fur Babies Brunch in Ivanhoe Village Sunday all day.

  9. We're coming up on the 2nd Anniversary of the Pulse tragedy. Perhaps the both of you wish to see the new new interim memorial that just opened this week and then visit the Pulse Pop up Shop inside Bloomingdales at Mall at Millenia to support the OnePulse Foundation. The shop is open Saturday 11am-4pm. The memorial is open to the public forever.

  10. And finally... if you MUST take her to brunch like every other boring uncreative offspring, choose one of the brunches that local foodie TastyChomps recommends in his Mothers Day Brunch Guide.
