407s will keep their 407s. Only new customers will be given the 689s... eventually.
The new area code for new phone customers in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and parts of Lake and Volusia counties will be 689 within about 10 months. Current 407 customers will retain that area code. New numbers will receive this area code once the 407 numbers are used up.
