Bird Show Yo --- Walk amongst hand fed baby parrots, finches, canaries, lovebirds, cockatiels, Kakarikis and all other kinds of exotic birds for sale at the Orlando Exotic Bird Show Sunday 8 to 3. No you cannot open the cages and wish them to freedom like I wanna do. You have to buy them.
We Don't Know What This is Exactly ---- We don't fully understand this event but the poster is pretty so we're sharing it. At this party (we know it's a party) there will two live DJs providing music, a person doing "visuals," two vintage furniture stores decorating the space, two people providing food and a bar providing the booze. It all takes place inside a warehouse event space. The Soul Stomp & Dance Romp is Saturday 7 til 1 at The Orange Studio in Mills50.
The Balled of Curry Ford Road --- A portion of Curry Ford Road has undergone an extreme but temporary transformation making it for the first time accommodating to pedestrians and cyclists... and cars. Attend a community event celebrating these changes and enjoy demonstrations, interactive drills and giveaways all geared toward bike and pedestrian safety called Curry Ford Community Bike & Pedestrian Safety Fair! The fun takes place Saturday 9:30 to 12:30 at 2850 Curry Ford Road at the intersection of Primrose and Curry Ford.
Kids Building Stuff in the Park --- Art in the Park is Orlando's only mobile art studio that travels to neighborhood parks and playgrounds hosting art projects. This weekend your 2 to 10 year old can help build a scale model of downtown Orlando through painting, cutting, gluing and building, all while using recycled materials. Potato Salad and Ukulele Players --- Listen to six ukulele acts, meet adoptable dogs and bring some food for the public pot luck during the second annual Ukulele Lovefest. "Some chicken and potato salad are provided, as well as water, coffee, chips and dip, and yummy cookies." The fun takes place Sunday 12:30 to 6:30 at Fodor's Grove.
Nerd Core Music Fest --- Take time out to listen to eight of Orlando's best nerd music acts and, for the first time ever, explore all the independent games made right here in Orlando during Orlando Overdrive Saturday at 4 at The Geek Easy in Winter Park.
We Have a Local Grocer Now ---- A new small grocer called The Cookery, specializing in locally made food products, is celebrating a grand opening day with vegan wings, peanut butter cups, raw cheesecakes, coffee on tap, a live musician, raffles and adult beverages.
