Some residents behind East End Market are telling customers they cannot park on their streets. Are they right?
When visitors to the popular local-loving Orlando food hub East End Market at 3201 Corrine Drive can't find parking on the property or in the designated spots the market manages on the side and directly behind the building, they may drive behind the building into a residential neighborhood to park. The streets have plenty of on-street parking. However, they're immediately met with multiple yard signs telling them parking is not allowed on the streets.
At least 6 residents living on the two streets closest to the back of East End Market, Northwood Blvd and East End Ave, have stuck signs in their yards telling customers of East End Market not to park on their streets. One sign resembles an actual city sign with the black P and the red circle and line through it. Some simply say "NO PARKING" in orange letters on a black background most likely purchased at Target or a hardware store. Most of them are tiny with a creme background and carry the same message: "EAST END CUSTOMERS - PLEASE RESPECT OUR NEIGHBORS - NO PARKING ON RESIDENTIAL STREETS - If lot is full please park along Corrine Dr."
Are they right? No. Communications Director for the City of Winter Park told The Daily City "Yes, the city allows on-street parking there." All of the signs are misleading and wrong. Any customer of East End Market can park along all those residential streets. Just ignore the signs.
Additionally, did you know that Winter Park, Orlando and Unincorporated Orange County all meet right at East End Market? The market itself is in the City of Orlando. The neighborhood behind the market is in Winter Park. The church right across the street from the market is in Unincorporated Orange County.
