Mobile Art Show | Orlando, FL
On August 5, 2009, TheDailyCity.com's very first Mobile Art Show took to the roads of Orlando, Florida. From 10am to 7pm, the show was either prepping, showing or traveling. For this first show, a UHaul was chosen to carry the over-40-piece collection of locally-made art because it was easier than getting an ice cream truck, which is the ideal vehicle for this. The locations for each stop were sent via twitter to twitter.com/mobileartshow. I, Mark Baratelli, was the driver and Brian Feldman was the co-pilot. Dan Ginader assisted me in the hanging of the art. Photos:

Brian Feldman Eats Everything Off the Menu at Loving Hut, Day #1

In May 2009, Loving Hut restaurant won Favorite Food Vendor at the 2009 Patrons Choice Awards held on the outdoor stage at the 2009 Orlando Fringe Festival. Each award came with a custom piece of visual art created by a local Orlando visual artist, and curated by Jessica Earley.

Performance Artist Brian Feldman presented himself as an award to Loving Hut the night of the awards; agreeing to stage a performance art piece at Loving Hut wherein he eats one of everything off their all-vegan menu.

On Saturday July 25, 2009, Felman carried out his piece from 11am to 9pm. Feldman, dressed in the outfit the employees where and sitting at a table facing the entire restaurant, was served each dish separately by the employees, as he ordered it off the menu.

After he ate each menu item, he crossed them off on a giant leader board behind him.

Occasionally he would take breaks.

Here's what his breaks looked like.

Most of the awards handed out at the 2009 Patrons Choice Awards were visual art pieces curated by local visual artist Jessica Earley. One was not. Performance artist Brian Feldman was chosen to design the award for "Best Food Vendor," which went to Loving Hut. He chose to award himself as the prize, providing a performace art piece to the winners, to be held at the restaurant's Colonial Avenue location (MAP | 2101 E Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL, 32803). The piece is called "Brian Feldman Eats Everything Off The Menu At Loving Hut" and takes place Sat July 25, 2009 from 11am - 9pm.
