I-4 is the Most Dangerous Highway in the Country

I-4 is the most dangerous highway in the country and Orlando the deadliest city on I-4 according to Fatal Accident Reporting System (FARS) data retrieved from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The graphic below was put together by Teletracnavman.

There were 165 deaths on the 132 mile I-4 interstate during this period which works out to 1.25 deaths per mile. In Orlando there 19 deaths on I-4. Orlando was the deadliest city on the route. The most common month for a fatality on the road was January between 2pm and 3pm.

Jacksonville was the deadliest city on I-95. Melbourne was the deadliest on 192. Both highways made the top 5 on the deadliest highways list.

This is based on an analysis of fatality data gathered on the US numbered and interstate highway systems over a 5-year period (2011-2015).
