Beer and Bike Valet Highlights of 2014 Winter Park Autumn Art Festival

The Winter Park Autumn Art Festival, presented by Florida Distributing Company and Subaru celebrates its 41st anniversary on Saturday, October 11 and Sunday, October 12, 2014.  At its permanent home in Central Park, located along Park Avenue, the Winter Park Autumn Art Festival is the only juried fine art show to showcase Florida artists exclusively. From over 400 applications, 156 of Florida’s outstanding artists were selected to display their works in eight different categories, including ceramics, drawings and graphics, fiber, fine crafts, jewelry, painting, photography and sculpture. MasterChef Contestant Francis Biondi Culinary Workshops

Layers of Thick Enamel on Found Plexiglass the Focus of Extra-Estetica

Twelve21 Gallery's new show Extra-Estetica runs October 17 - November 14, 2014 with an opening party October 17th 6-9pm. The show features a series of new works by Brooklyn-based artist, Oliviè Ponce. The gallery is located at 1221C N. Orange Ave. Orlando, FL 32804.

This series of paintings represents the beauty of civilization in decay through layers of thick enamel on found plexiglass, allowing the viewer to look further than what is present.

As hopefully you already know, Central Florida/ Orlando is fast becoming a Halloween town. With 3 strong Indie haunts that rival the big theme park events, Outbreak at Farm is joining the trend for 2014. Set to open for just 3 days in October, they are promising lots of scares and spooky fun!

The downtown Orlando farmers market has the best location, some great vendors and a lot of not so great vendors. Sunday, we met a good vendor: the owner of Raaw Macaw (Facebook | Website), a small local company that makes custom energy bars, trail mix, cereal and smoothie mixes according to your recipe and mails them to you in boxes.

Round Building Downtown Demolition: Brise Soleil Panels Detached and on the Ground

The round building at the corner of Anderson and Orange in downtown Orlando has begun to be taken apart. Several of the eye-catching cement fixtures at the base of the building, known as the bride soleil, have been removed and placed behind the building. Back in 2008, there was a contest for creatives to come up with a use for the panels. These photos were taken on Sunday September 21, 2014. 








Round Building Downtown Demolition Pictures

Demolition has begun on the round building at the corner of Anderson and Orange in downtown Orlando. Several of the brise soleil panels have been removed and placed behind the building in front of the Dr Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. back in 2008, there was a contest for creatives to come up with a use for the panels.

The rain didn't stop the masses that came out last night to open Universal Orlando's Halloween Horror Nights 24. Only 27 days left to join in on the 8 haunted houses and 3 scare zones and 2 event shows of the event.

I recommend going on a weekday and or buying a Express Pass. The very best way to experience the even is a VIP ( aka RIP during the season) tour. No thinking, no planning just enjoying everything Halloween Horror Nights!

This years event has a 4 licensed content houses and 4 original. If you don't have knowledge of the show or movie, you might not fully get the story you are experiencing but the sets are still rich in details and over all scares are delivered pretty effectively.

Orlando Indie Comedy Festival Teams Up With Southern Fried Sundays September 28 for Laughs, Lager and Foooooood

What goes better together than music and laughter? Maybe beer and BBQ? 

Sunday September 28th Southern Fried Sunday returns to Will's Pub (1042 N.Mills Ave Orlando FL. 32803) and is teaming up with The Orlando Indie Comedy Festival to bring Orlando an evening of music, comedy and home cooked, southern style dinner.
