Lady Raven’s Cotillion returns to benefit Audubon Park District

Join Lady Raven's Cotillion on Saturday, September 27, from 7 to 11 pm, for a whimsical pop up cabaret of dazzling entertainment, fashion, food, theatrics, drink and intrigue. In its second year, Lady Raven’s Cotillion is an all inclusive evening featuring fire breathers, stilt walkers, dancers and more by Best of Orlando Winner John Didonna’s Phantasmagoria, farm to table food by The Smiling Bison, decadent desserts by Blue Bird Bake Shop, chocolates by Lady Raven’s own chocolatier, boutique wine, craft beer, The Black Orchid cocktail, soft drinks and more. varieTEASE + Patrick Fatica = September's Monster

Visual artist Patrick Fatica and Choreographer Blue Star are collaborating on an event called MONSTER September 5, 6*, 8, 12, 13, & 15 at The Venue (511 Virginia Drive). Doors at 8pm Show at 9pm *Doors at 9pm Show at 10pm. Tickets are $15 online or $18 at the door. Call the box office 407-412-6895

After the success of their collaborations “Hammers and Lambs,” & “Shadows of the Waifs” Fatica & Star are at it again. Fatica’s film, (a stop motion short film made with paper cutouts) and Star’s award-winning varieTEASE serve as the backbone for this performance.

MONSTER is a dark fable of five little girls who get lost in the forest and fall victim to their vices. There's been a monster in the swamp forest as long as anyone can remember. This is the story of the first time the monster made itself known and the only time anyone escaped.


As a precursor to the show, the team created a website filled with clues and behind the scenes footage.

Giant Wooden Sculpture the Centerpiece of Whisper/Roar

A collaborative evening of art installation, modern dance, original music, film and costume called "Whisper/Roar" takes place Friday, September 5th and Saturday, September 6th at The Orange Studio, 1121 N Mills Ave., Orlando, FL 32803. 

The interior will be filled with a hanging wooden sculpture that fills up the space created by Mario Shambon. Wine and light bites  will be provided by Chow of Happy, Sweet Surrender Croissant Sandwiches, Green Growl Nachos & Raw Rage Chocolate Truffles.

Several Food Trucks in Downtown Orlando on Labor Day Weekend During Inaugural VetFest 2014

Food Trucks in Downtown Orlando?Yes, it's real!The Daily City® Food Truck Bazaar is bringing in several food trucks from Tampa and Orlando to be part of local legend Bob Snow's brand new inaugural event called VetFest (Facebook|Website), a tribute to America's Veterans, Labor Day Weekend, August 30-31, 2014. 

They'll be parked in a very peculiar but creative place: under I-4 near Church Street. You know what that means? If it rains, the event can still go on! Also, Bob Snow is constructing a play place with bars for boozing and stages for musical acts to perform. 

The event runs noon to midnight both days. To get into Bob Snow's VetFest event, attendees will pay $15 admission and have access to bars with drink specials, several live music performers and the food trucks. 13% of all the money spent at the food trucks goes back to charities supporting Veterans.

Taste of Dr. Phillips Center: Preferred Caterers Provide Menu Tasting

After announcing the selection of four local companies as preferred caterers , the Dr. Phillips Center hosted an event on Wednesday, May 21st inside the model room on the 1st floor of "the round building" at 455 S. Orange Ave. Running 2-4pm, the event gave media and select invited guests a chance to meet the caterers and samples some offerings from their menus. 

The preferred caterers include the following companies: 
Arthur’s Creative Events & CateringFood Glorious Food CateringHyatt Regency Orlando International AirportPuff ’n Stuff Catering  More than just a food tasting, the event marked the center’s foray into Orlando’s thriving culinary industry. Each chef showcased creative offerings that departed from traditional theater cuisine. 
When the center opens, these four preferred caterers will assist the center in providing an immersive culinary experience in addition to the cultural experience contained within the center.

Scott Joseph Event Recap: Sous Chefs, Road Food & Rioja at Orlando Harley-Davidson

The special dinner event "Sous Chefs, Road Food & Rioja" was thrown on May 21, 2014 by Scott Joseph, one of Orlando's top food authorities, at the Orlando Harley-Davidson at 3770 37th Street, Orlando, FL. The 150 guests who managed to get a ticket were treated to food by chefs from ten top restaurants.
