Yellow Dog Dancer in Orlando Video Shared By Ludacris

On Monday June 23, rapper/actor Ludacris shared a video on Facebook of a person in a yellow dog suit doing a dance-off in the blazing sun. The video was filmed in Orlando, Florida on Colonial in front of a pet store near Fashion Square Mall. A friend of mine told me he thought the video was a couple years old.

Both dancers were very good, but the one in the dog costume... was in a dog costume! In Orlando! In the hot sun! He deserved to win just for not passing out.

At the end of the video, he gives his competitor a hug.

I stopped in the pet store today and asked the owners for the dog costumer dancer's contact information. I told him I wanted to hire the dancer for other events. I wanted to have him attract attention at some upcoming TheDailyCity.com Food Truck Bazaar events we put on each month.

The owner of the store got real quiet and said he didn't work there anymore.

He is dead.

His name was Bobby Mac Harris. He was born in…

Downtown Disney Marketplace Co-Op Has Retro Theme Park Products

We took our first trip to the new Marketplace Co-Op in Downtown Disney the other day and one shop caught our eye: the one with the retro merch. Little ceramic trash cans, Mr Toad trays, Jungle Cruise elephants and more await the Disney nerd fan in all of us.

What Would Make Orlando Fringe Festival Better Next Year?

The last question on the ballot for 6th Annual 2014 TheDailyCity.com Audience Choice Awards asked voters "What would make the Orlando Fringe Festival better?" We thought it would be nice to share the responses. Let us know if you agree!

more parking availability.

instead of patron's picks having to be a 7 show run show, make it a percentage. for instance, 7 show runners sold 90% of house and 4 show runners sold 100% house. makes it more fair to me. petty cabs or some other transportation to the black venue. they need to recruit more volunteers! it seemed a little light this year. more healthy (or normal, let's be real) food that you could eat everyday and not feel sick. more salads, sandwiches, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free options.

having a valet service would make crazy money for the festival. let's do that!

shorter shifts for volunteers will attract more artists and patron's to help out between shows. it's really tough to convince people to give up 4 hou…

12 Cars For Rent by the Hour in Downtown Orlando From Hertz

With the launch of SunRail, local transportation agencies are looking to improve upon the connectivity options available in Downtown Orlando. One of those options, hourly car rentals through Hertz 24/7®, offers mid-day convenience with a fleet of 12 vehicles available to run errands during the day. Downtown residents also benefit from the program, particularly if they are a “one-car” household and need a car any day of the week, any time of the day.

The City of Orlando recently identified three new parking spaces that will increase visibility of the hourly rental cars, with the hope that more commuters and residents will take note and enroll with Hertz 24/7.

Twelve cars will remain in the fleet, at a total of nine locations. Six locations will now have one car each and three locations will have two cars each. Previously, two cars were stationed at each of the six locations. Renters will still need to return their rental car to the original parking space where they picked up the car.

Real-Time Bus Arrival Info Available at Select LYNX Bus Stops and Dedicated Website

The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (LYNX) has partnered with industry leader Clever Devices to pilot and develop LYNXbustracker.com as the agency's first real-time bus arrival information at select bus stops and on a dedicated website. The technology is presently available only for the two LYMMO lines Orange (Link 31) and Grapefruit (Link 62).

On 22 message boards throughout the two routes passengers will now see estimated bus arrival times. For example three LYMMO 31 lines may be on the screen showing a 3, 8 and 13. This means the next bus arrival will be in three minutes, the following bus will arrive in eight minutes and so forth.

The latest customer amenity also is accessible on desktop computers and mobile devices. Here passengers select their route, direction and stop. This too will show customers the estimated arrival time of the next bus. Passengers likewise have an option to view specific bus locations on a map. A tutorial is currently available onLYNXbus…
