Mark Baratelli created the nations first traveling town-to-town food truck event in March 2011. Before then, food trucks traveled and the events stayed put. Now in 2014, Baratelli takes his food truck party to eleven towns every month, giving locals in these towns a taste of the Orlando food truck scene and giving them a new reason to gather and break bread together as a community. He's also opened up new markets to new trucks and encourages locals to strike out on their own with their…

“We want to take our guests on a trip down memory lane to remember what it’s like to be a kid again,” said Jane Thompson, president of AGFT. “Guests can have fun with skee-ball, play Curtis Earth’s trivia game, take a spin on the dance floor, make memories in the photo booth, try their arm at the Wine Toss and grab a sweet treat out of The Yum Yum Cupcake Truck. SEASONS the Musical Fundraiser!

By: Denna Beena Contributing Writer

Pink Hair Productions (aka me!) is producing SEASONS Mix and Mingle Cabaret to be held this Sunday night March 30th. I'm not going to lie, we've pulled together some pretty fierce talent for the evening. Who is hosting you wonder..... none other that the lovely and talented Mark Baratelli himself!
The idea of the night is there will be blocks of entertainment throughout the evening beginning at 7:30. In between you'll have the opportunity to view the beautiful galleries of CityArts Factory, mix and mingle! One of the current displays in the #TwitterArtExhibit, it just opened this past 3rd Thursday and is amazing.

Entertainment for the night includes:
Sarah Hanchar aka Happy Pink Girl
You may remember Sarah from past Fringe shows Happy Zombie Girl, Debbie Does Dallas the Musical and Happy Pink Girl Sings. Sarah is an ensemble member of SAK Comedy lab and entertains at not one, not two but THREE theme parks!
Sarah is the true definition…

Bill Plymton stops by the Enzian

By: Denna Beena Contributing Writer

Bill Plymton stopped by Enzian theater to do an introduction to his feature Hair High. I first came to know about Mr. Plympton and his Plymtoons when I saw Guard Dog as part of the animated shorts program at the Florida Film Festival. I feel in love with that dog and began following his works each year at the festival.

If you ave visited the Eden Bar at the Enzian you have seen the mural. That was created by Bill.

Bill will be back for this years festival where he has a feature, Cheatin', being screened.

showing on:
Mon, April 7th 9:30PM - 11:05PM Enzian

Sat, April 12th 11:30PM - 12:50AM Regal Winter Park Village B

FFF Movie Spotlight: Forev

By: Denna Beena Contributing Writer

type: Narrative Feature
Sat, April 5th 5:00PM - 6:30PMRegal Winter Park Village B
Wed, April 9th 9:30PM - 11:15PMEnzian
love story, quirky, independent film, twenty somethings, romance

I thought this movie was really cute and well cast.

from the Florida Film Festival website:
A story where love hides in corners, FOREV shows how far you can go without saying what you mean. Neighbors Sophie (Noel Wells) and Pete (Matt Mider) take a 6-hour road trip from L.A. to Phoenix to pick up Pete’s sister Jess from college. The hitch: somewhere on the edge of the desert, Pete proposes to Sophie. Stuck in the limbo between college graduation and settling down—and fueled by fears of intimacy—they run with the idea, getting on Jess’s last nerve. Stranded in the desert, it becomes aCanterbury Tales-esque journey as they meet strangers who weigh in on issues of love, marriage, hook-ups, and wandering. In a surprisingly fresh take on the indie romantic c…

Getting ready for the Florida Film Festival

By: Denna Beena Contributing Writer

So many people have never heard of the Florida Film Festival or they've heard and not participated.
Here are the basics you should know to finally get up and see something.
The Florida Film Festival runs 10 days from Friday April 4- 13th. The majority of programs will be shown at the Enzian or Regal 20. The Enzian is a smaller venue and tickets should be purchased a head of time to see films there. The Enzian also is a full restaurant so can be perfect for a dinner and a movie thing.
The Regal is a bit larger and your chances are better to walk up to buy tickets. If you can plan ahead, it truly is better to buy all tickets ahead of time. I've spent time in the stand by lines, it's a sad place to be when you don't get in.
As we get closer to the Florida Film Festival we at theDailyCity will be sharing information about some of the films offered. During the 10 days of the festival most films or programs are offered twice. It's importa…

Disney Food Truck Park

We told youback in March of 2013 that a local food truck builder had a huge order for a mystery client, and that a mysterious "food truck row" logo appeared in a Disney slide presentation. Then Disney came out with four unique food trucks in Downtown Disney plopped here and there.

Well, according to Disney Food Blog, Downtown Disney is getting that food truck row, only now its called  "food truck park." The expected open date is Summer 2014.

You can buy the domain if you want to try to make some fast cash.

Orlando's The Food Truck Bazaar

Paul Sorvino comes to Orlando

By: Denna Beena Contributing Writer

Florida Film Festival Welcomes Paul Sorvino

Part of the fun of the Florida Film Festival is the special guest that visit during the 10 days of films.
"Brooklyn-born actor Paul Sorvino has appeared in more than 100 films, a variety of television shows, and as an accomplished stage actor won a Drama Desk Award in 1972 and was nominated for a Tony Award in 1973 for his performance in the Broadway production of the dark comedy That Championship Season.."
From the Florida Film Festival site about Last I Heard:

After 20 years in federal prison, former Mafia capo Joe Scoleri (Paul Sorvino, GoodFellas)—aka “Big Joe”—is released and returns to the Queens neighborhood where once he was “a king made of steel.” Now he is old, his heart is failing, and the mob is nothing but small-time crooks and bullies. The world he knew has been transformed into another country. With a decent and well meaning next door neighbor Bobby (Michael Rapaport, TV’s Justified) a…

Florida Film Festival Schedule Announced

Orlando Lens
By Nicholas Ware Twitter | E-mail

The Florida Film Festival is just around the corner and the schedule was announced last night. Feel free to click here for the juicy details and full film descriptions.

My personal Top Three Florida Film Festival Picks:

3. The Final Member- This is a documentary about an Icelandic penis museum attempting to get a human specimen for display. I repeat: this is a documentary about an Icelandic penis museum attempting to get a human specimen for display. Rad.

2. Moebius- Last year Kim Ki-Duk's Pieta was super grody and, I thought, quite good. This year the grody gets even grodier and the artistic choices get more avant garde. Dialogue? Who needs it!? Not Kim Ki-Duk!

1. The Trip to Italy - A sequel to the great talky improvy comedy The Trip (which you can watch on Netflix Instant), this also happens to be the opening night film. Last year's opening night film, 20 Feet From Stardom, just won an Oscar. Coincidence? Probably, but a great indicat…

Photos: Dine with the Departed

By: Denna Beena Contributing Writer

We set out for our "Dinner with the Departed" to benefit and hosted by Osceola County Historical Society. This was their 4th year holding the event. White tents were set up in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Kissimmee. They had a variety of silents auction items and a few live auction items including a rare Highwaymen painting.

After we dined we were treated to a walk through the cemetery where we "met" some of the more colorful and historic guests of Rose Hill Cemetery.

This is a yearly event. Be sure to sign up for's email newsletter to stay up on all interesting happenings in Central Florida.  Then you won't miss things like this. ;)
Dear Greenwood Cemetery....can we do this? Please and Thank you!  Your friend, Denna
