Indoor Shuffleboard Court Celebrates Florida Culture in Brooklyn

An indoor shuffleboard court called Royal Palms Shuffleboard Club was recently completed in Brooklyn and will feature an indoor food truck "lot" at which the nightly rotating food selections will dictate the live music played on stage each night. We love that Florida style and sports are being celebrated in New York! And that food truck/music idea is a fun one. Read the Zagat first look.

If you want to partake in Shuffleboard locally, then pay attention to the Orlando Shuffle, taking place at Orlando's Beardall Courts the first Saturday of every month. The next Shuffle will by Saturday, Jan. 4, at 7 pm.

Photo tour of Feld Entertainment World Headquarters in Ellenton FL

If you've ever dreamed of running away to join the circus -- or the ice show, or monster truck rally, for that matter -- Feld Entertainment is probably where you would have ended up. The producers of the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus, Disney On Ice, Monster Jam, and countless other arena spectaculars, recently moved into their a massive new Feld Entertainment World Headquarters facility in Ellenton FL, near Bradenton. Recently, Feld Entertainment invited me out to tour the facility, a 420,000 square foot former Siemmens plant that is the state's second-largest building (after NASA's VAB), and preview their new Nuclear Cowboyz Kung-fu motorcycle extravaganza.

Wrestling Dinner Theatre in Orlando? Yes for $150,000.

A group is trying to raise $150,000 in about a month through (what else?) Kickstarter to start a wrestling dinner theatre. Seriously.

"Manor Pro Wrestling Dinner Theater is a vision to the next level of dinner theaters. We are raising funds to put this vision on top and for people to experience something different. We would like to present this project in 2014 with class and a unique look and feel. The project will be on going until we feel complete. This project will present a different light in fine dining, professional wrestling and performing arts.

The dinner show scene has come to a stop in Orlando, Fl. As we look to give it a jump start with a fresh look and different adventure for families, friends, tourist and groups. We have been traveling to different venues for over a year and testing the waters on this adventure and we have come to find there is a following. So now is the time to find the perfect location and ground Manor Professional Wrestling Dinner Theater.&…

Marine Mammal Captivity: The Truth Is in the Facts
An Open Letter from the Informed American Public
Inaccurate reports from SeaWorld recently placed in full-page advertisements in major newspapers included a series of mistruths about the quality of life of the animals in its care. The truth is in the facts about its parks and management, and it’s time to set the record straight.
The men and women that we represent are true animal advocates. We are the Oceanic Preservation Society, creators of the Academy Award-winning documentary The Cove, and we represent millions of American citizens including scientists, researchers, veterinarians, ex-trainers, marine biologists, educators, conservationists, mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, students, veterans, and many other compassionate and intelligent people. This growing sector of the public sees through the narrative that SeaWorld has crafted…

CowFish North Carolina Location Hints at Orlando Awesomeness

By: Denna Beena
Contributing Writer

I told you earlier this month that Universal Orlando was bringing Charlotte, North Carolina-based Cowfish sushi/burger restaurant to Citywalk soon. I have pictures! No, not of the Orlando location, but of the original one in North Carolina!

It happens to be where my family lives. So last night I brought my husband, chairman of the Central Florida Aquarium Society, my dad and youngest sister, Alyssa. She'd visited Cowfish before and was just as excited to go with us this time around.
Check out their full menu here
When you arrive you are assigned a fish for your group on a screen. Some of the ones we saw tonight included Eel Eel Cool Jay and Monica Lewfinsky. As your table readies, your fish increases in size until it's eventually caught in a net, which means your table is ready.

I am already in love with this place and we have not even ordered food!
The staff were all super friendly and helpful. This being our first venture into burgushi (bur…

Tom & Jerrys Winter Park Bar Exterior Photos

Tom & Jerry's Bar (1117 N. Orlando Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789) served it's last boozy beverage Thursday night after 67 years in business. Here are some photos of the bright orange building and the land it sits on currently, which for a brief, shimmering moment, was a promising permanent food truck lot.

Seventy Feet of Blue Steel at Orlando Museum of Art Will Cost You $800,000.

A 70 feet tall, 35 feet long, 41,539-pound piece of art made of welded steel and painted blue on a 12 feet wide base called "Quark" by John Henryhas been installed just outside the Orlando Museum of Art in Loch Haven Park and will remain there until January 1, 2016.
The piece was brought from Tallahassee via truck, a less interesting manner of transportation than the way they moved that half-house in Winter Park.
You may remember there was a very similar structure there until 2011 called "Chevron Blue" by the same artist.
Quark is for sale. The price is $800,000. Buyers may inquire at the Orlando Museum of Art.
