Orlando Food Trucks For Sale

Edit 5-4-13: Big Wheel Provisions was wrongly listed as "closed." They are closed for Summer 2013 only and are not permanently closed.

Craigslist has a food truck section. It's a treasure trove of used Orlando-area food trucks and many for sale by Prestige. You can pick out the truck of your dreams or find out why you've not seen your favorites out and about on the streets anymore. While some have recognizable names, others are just blank slates waiting to be bought, branded, put back on the road where they belong. Others just look like pieces of s***. Here are some ones we noticed.

$8,900: The cupcake and cookie truck called Graciously Sweet is for sale for $8,900. It used to be parked at the now-closed Winter Park Food Truck Stop, owned and managed by Dan Bellows.

$40,000: This fully-branded snow cone truck comes with a hot dog machine and bun warmer and claims to have won "Delectable Dessert" in 2012.

$15,000: This green, yellow and white bus was converted into a mobile kitchen and includes a built in brick oven. This one rocks.

$25,000: According to this food truck's website, it "...will open its doors (and window) for business starting May 1st in Gainesville..."  The Craigslist ad went up on On April 14. What? It has its own Facebook, Twitterwebsite and informational PDF.

$40,000: Here's another "turn-key" food truck brand for sale. You get everything. The ad says the truck is "approved with all of the local promoters in the orlando area." We are one of those "promoters" with our event, The Food Truck Bazaar, but any new buyer of this truck isn't automatically approved by us FYI.

$2,800: You don't see many of these on the roads.

$12,500: Yes, that looks like a backyard grill inside this food truck.

Before you go jumping into buying a food truck, take a look at a list of trucks that have opened and closed in the Orlando area already since the boom of 2011:

Though I won't deny that owning a food truck is hard work for very little, if any, profit, a few of the trucks on your closed list have good reasons. Bruno's Bites closed because it was only at Redlight Redlight and Redlight's new location doesn't allow it. Red Eye and Que Rico both opened brick and mortar locations (Que Rico opens downtown soon). Winter Park Fish and Brick & Fire Pizza were both extensions of existing restaurants.

It would have been good for us to have explained all of that rather than just list who has closed. Thank you for the feedback. -Mark

I've heard that food trucks are a great stepping stone for getting a product known and creating a following before taking the plunge into a free standing restaurant business.

How do Food Trucks leave little profit when you don't have to pay ridiculous rents that landlords charge on brick and mortar type business?

Plus Bruno is now the head chef at Oblivion...also the crooked spoon closed and they are opening a restaurant. I really think most of those that closed were people who thought they could make a lot of $$$ really quick. Like any restaurant it takes a lot of heart, knowledge, talent, and time and most of these didn't have all 4 of those.
