Car Hits Restaurant at Intersection of Mills & Colonial
These are photos taken of Anh Hong restaurant on Thursday Februaury 26, 2013 at the corner of Colonial and Mills. A car hit the restaurant and was gone by the time we arrived.
Just before 3 p.m., a black car was traveling southbound on Mills, crossing the Colonial intersection on a green light, when a gold-colored minivan traveling northbound on Mills made an illegal left turn in front of the car, police said.
The car swerved to avoid the collision and crashed into the front of Anh Hong restaurant. The driver was taken to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Orlando city needs an installation of a red light traffic camera to catch illegal drivers at the corner of Mills Avenue and Colonial Drive .

My mom was the driver of the black car. She avoided crashing into the gold minivan. There is a sign right right next to the light that prohibits the left turn that this gold minivan made.
As I was driving today through the same intersection a car attempted to make that same ILLEGAL turn and was not able to do it after cars behind beeped at this car!
My mom's accident could have been so much worse. As a mother of a 1-year-old this worries me (something like this could lead to a tragedy, specially if there are children passengers) and after seeing what happened today at that same intersection, there is an obvious need for further action.
So...
1. No camera at this intersection?! How come?? What can we do about this?
2. IF you have any information regarding this incident or the gold minivan (driver is a woman) that made the illegal turn at around 2:30pm, please comment on this.

I've always thought they should have a drive-thru.
I hope the driver got her ordered texted in before the accident.
