Aloft Hotel in Downtown Orlando

Mayor Dyer mentioned it in his State of the City address in October 2011 in the Amway Center. We told you about it in December 2011. On Tuesday July 10, 2012, GDC Properties President William Ingraham will join Mayor Dyer for a groundbreaking ceremony of the new Aloft Hotel (Facebook, Website) in Downtown Orlando. The hotel is at the location of the former Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) Building (500 South Orange Avenue) and will include 119 rooms, a pool and outdoor patio on the ground floor.

Aloft Hotels, a division of W Hotels and Starwood Hotel Group, already have a presence in Florida in Jacksonville and Tallahassee with three more planned for Doral, Miami and Orlando.
About: "For the traveler open to possibilities, Aloft Hotels is a modern, fresh, and fun destination. Aloft is a hotel that celebrates the individual and gives you freedom to control and customize your travel adventure to fit your personal style. It is a place where walls have been knocked down to create a space that is open in design and open to possibilities. A place where energy flows, personalities mingle, and opportunities abound. A place where anything can happen."
