Aloft Hotel in Downtown Orlando

Mayor Dyer mentioned it in his State of the City address in October 2011 in the Amway Center. We told you about it in December 2011. On Tuesday July 10, 2012, GDC Properties President William Ingraham will join Mayor Dyer for a groundbreaking ceremony of the new Aloft Hotel (Facebook, Website) in Downtown Orlando. The hotel is at the location of the former Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) Building (500 South Orange Avenue) and will include 119 rooms, a pool and outdoor patio on the ground floor.

Aloft Hotels, a division of W Hotels and Starwood Hotel Group, already have a presence in Florida in Jacksonville and Tallahassee with three more planned for Doral, Miami and Orlando.
