Which Wich Order Taking System is Fun

The tuna sammich at Which Wich is delicious, but whats more neat than the food at this Restaurant Row spot which opened July 2011 is the way a customer's order is placed. Instead of standing in front of the person making your sammich and telling them what you want, you write your whole order down on a brown paper bag with a crayon.

UCF To Be Punished For Recruiting Violations Today

UCF sports recruiters are accused of not going by the book by the NCAA. The university will find out the punishment for their actions today. One is accused of putting money directly into students' bank accounts!

The Food Truck Bazaar (mini) Goes to Ormond Beach for the Daytona Turkey Run After Party

The after-party for 2012 Turkey Run (register here) on Saturday November 24, 2012, 5-8pm, will feature 6-10 Central Florida food truck provided by The Food Truck Bazaar and will take place at Destination Daytona (1635 N. US Hwy 1, Ormond Beach, Fl.  32174). Participating trucks will be announced closer to the event. 

Egypt: the Story Behind the Revolution

A special public screening of the 2011  Global Peace Film Festival favorite, Egypt: the Story Behind the Revolution will happen onSunday Aug 5, 7:30pm at Urban ReThink (625 E.Central Blvd, Orlando, FL). The film's director Khaled Sayed will Skype in from San Francisco for a question and answer session. On Thursday August 2, 2012 at 8:30am the next monthly installment of "What's Up Downtown" will be held at the Gallery at Avalon Island (39 S. Magnolia Ave., Orlando, FL 32801). The topic is "Leveraging the Orlando Business Journal and Benefits of the Downtown Orlando Partnership" with guest speakers Gabe Mitchell (Downtown Orlando Partnership Vice President) and Sevilla Trevisani (Orlando Business Journal Circulation Marketing Executive).

Deadline: August 15, 2012. America’s Media Makers grants seeks artists who are interested in interactive digital media and film/television/radio projects. The proposed projects may take the form of museum exhibitions, book/film discussion programs, or engage audiences in new ways. There are two different categories: A development grant enables media producers to collaborate with scholars to develop humanities content and to prepare programs for production. Production grants support the production and distribution of digital projects, films, television programs, radio programs, and related programs that promise to engage the public.

Deadline: July 30, 2012. Public Art Chattanooga and St. Elmo Public Art Committee are looking for artist or artist teams to install permanent public artwork in the St. Elmo community of Chattanooga…

Congratulations to our team, who also outplayed and were unlucky to be defeated by Stoke City on Saturday night. There are three matches left in the season, all of which are just a formality now. The final match of the season is at home on August 17th against the Dayton Dutch Lions, and will likely be a victory celebration.

Evening in the Grove

The Art & History Museums – Maitland is doing "Evening in the Grove, an Orange & White (& Blue) Gala," Saturday, October 13, 2012, 6-10pm at the Sheraton Orlando North Hotel in Maitland. Tickets are $70 for members and $75 non-members. Corporate Tables are $1000 and seat ten.
Evening in the Grove begins with a VIP reception, continues with a silent auction and cocktail reception and culminates with a gourmet dinner, tribute, and live auction. The silent and live auctions feature diverse items including tickets to area attractions, travel opportunities, sporting tickets and apparel, restaurant certificates, golf outings and unique experiences. Proceeds from Evening in the Grove benefit A&H art and history educational programming.

Culinary Masters Weekend at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando

The Ritz-Carlton Orlando is putting on a farm-to-table experience called "For the Love of Food! Culinary Masters Weekend."
