The Food Truck Bazaar To Visit Mount Dora!

The Daily City is excited to announce that the City of Mount Dora has invited The Food Truck Bazaar to stop by their lovely town for four visits July through October, 2012. The bazaar will touch down for three hours each night, once a month, bringing with it its signature "community dinner" feeling and some of the very best that the Orlando food truck scene has to offer. 

The Food Truck Bazaar will visit Mount Dora Thursday July 26, Thursday August 23, Thursday September 27 and Thursday October 25, 2012. 

it will take place near the corner of 4th & Alexander. 

The usual time for the bazaars is 6-9pm during the summer, but in Mount Dora, the bazaar will happen 5:30pm-8:30pm during the summer. 

The trucks for the very first visit have not been announced yet. Check for updates on that. 

Hedwig and the Angry Inch 4 Nights Only

A production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch featuring Joshua Eads-Brown as Hedwig and Janine Klein as Yitzhak is playing the Parliament House (410 N. Orange Blossom Trail Orlando, FL 32805) July 14th, 21st, & 28th at 7:30pm and MONDAY July 30th at 8pm.  $15 online in advance or $18 at the door. 

Originally presented at The Abbey by In The Wings Productions, this particular interpretation of the uber popular John Cameron Mitchell & Steven Trask cult rock musical received rave reviews in January, and is back with it's original stars Joshua Eads Brown as Hedwig and Janine Klein as Yitzhak.

Billed as "

the biggest sticker show in the entire South," Stick Em' Up 3: An Adhesive Art Gathering is September 8, 2012 at the Orange Studio ( 1121 North Mills Avenue). Tickets are $6 pre-sale (available in July 15, 2012 at The Garage, Graffiti Iconz and Death By Pop) or $8 day of. This is a family-friendly event so kids 10 and under are admitted free. Bring stickers to trade and receive a free raffle ticket. DJ Big Mark will be spinning.

Creative Mornings Orlando

Baldwin Park First Friday Art Stroll

The Baldwin Park Merchants Association will host its next First Friday Charity Festival & Art Stroll on Friday July 6, 2012, along New Broad Street in Baldwin Park from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Live music, 40 local artists, drink specials, free samples, interactive activities, all in the heart of downtown Baldwin Park. The Daily City will be there with an information tent about The Food Truck Bazaar as well. 

The July Art Stroll will showcase the artistic talents of Brandy Renee, who uses
primarily acrylics to create her pieces that are inspired by nature and music; and Kevin Stewart, who is the July winner of the Austin Arts Hub Scholarship that is awarded monthly by visual artist Ken Austin and the Arts Hub.

The July First Friday event will benefit One Brick Orlando, which provides support to local non-profit and community organizations by creating a unique, social and flexible environment for volunteers interested in making a concrete difference in the community.

Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts Begins Demolition Today

Today, Wednesday, June 27, 2012, The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts begins demolition of the former First United Methodist Church annex building, located on the corner of South Street and Magnolia Avenue. This building is on the future site of the Multi-Form, Acoustical Theater. This theater will be the new performance hall for the Orlando Ballet and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Completion of the demolition and clearing of the site in its entirety is expected to take two months.

WhirlyDome Grand Opening and Olympics

WhirlyDome (6464 International Drive) has been open since May 21, 2012and they're now having their Grand OpeningSaturday, June 30, 2012, 11am-2am. Before that on Friday, June 29, 2012 at 3pm, WhirlyDome will host its first WhirlyDome Olympics. Six teams of five players will compete in WhirlyBall, Laser Tag, Bowling, Lazer Frenzy and the F1 Racing Simulator to win the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. 

During the grand opening and the olympics, guests will get specials including $5 WhirlyBall, Laser Tag and F1 Simulator Racing experiences. Maitland Summer Concert Series: Music, Poetry & Food Trucks

Art & History Museums of Maitland in partnership with Performing Arts of Maitland, continue theirSummer Concert Series with a program featuringEvan Taylor JonesonFriday, July 13, 2012 at 7pm. The concert series,titled "Art. Music. Food. Architecture" takes place in the main garden at the museum (231 W. Packwood Ave, Maitland) on the second Friday of every month through September. $3 admission, free for museum members. 

Patrons will enjoy music, poetry and Food Truck fare and the main gallery exhibition, A Day in the Life of the Research Studio.  Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or a low-backed chair.  A bar is available for those who would like to purchase alcohol.  Guests are not permitted to bring in their own alcohol.

Hydroponic Grower Village Farms Reloactes to Lake Mary From NJ

The second largest hydroponic grower in North America is relocating its headquarters to Lake Mary, Fla. With their back office already located in Metro Orlando, Village Farms International, Inc. will expand their presence and move their headquarters from New Jersey to Florida. They plan to hire up to 21 new positions over the next three years at wages 200% higher than the average wage for Seminole County.

Village Farms International, Inc. has received approval from the state of Florida and Seminole County for an incentive package worth approximately $147,000 ($29,400 from Seminole County; $117,600 from the State) from the Qualified Target Industry (QTI) tax refund program.

Seminole County, Enterprise Florida, Workforce Florida, State of Florida and the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission (EDC) have all been partners in this project.
