Maitland is Getting a SoDo Mixed Use Development, Not Another Apartment Complex

Maitland is getting a SoDo! On a 23-acre site at Maitland Boulevard & State Road 434, what was originally supposed to be just a 500-unit apartment complex will now be a "mixed use" development (similar to the South Downtown-area SoDo) with retail, hospitality, office and apartments. This change came about after the city met with the developer about wanting more "pedestrian-friendly communities where people can live-work-play..."  Source
