The Food Truck Bazaar
The Food Truck Bazaar (About, Twitter, Facebook) is the original travelling gourmet food truck event in Central Florida. It visits city after city bringing a fun nighttime outdoor community dinner in a family friendly atmosphere featuring a variety of foods (gourmet, ethnic, BBQ and dessert) from Orlando's huge food truck scene. (Orlando Food Truck Guide). It averages 1,000 attendees per visit and has been going since March 2011. For businesses, its a great way to get in front of thousands of foodies: Become a Sponsor. The Food Truck Bazaar was named "Best Local Food Event 2012 (2nd)" by Edible Orlando and Producer Mark Baratelli (Email, About) was called the "Pied Piper of Food Trucks" by the Orlando Business Journal.

What to Do:
1. Think tailgating: bring your own chairs + tables + tents

History
Mark Baratelli has been a proponent of food trucks dating back to 2009 when he started hosting food truck meetups called Taco Truck Taste Tests. He'd ask readers of TheDailyCity.com to meet up at trucks all over the city, one truck at a time, and try the food. In doing so, he got his readers to explore new parts of the city, support small businesses and raise awareness of our city's food trucks scene at the time. That same year e applied the idea of mobile vending to art and created TheDailyCity.com Mobile Art Show. On March 29, 2011, he combine the idea of the Hells Kitchen gourmet food truck bazaar idea he wrote about in April 2010, combined it with what was happening in Miami (as told to him by Red Eye BBQ) and did the very first iteration of The Food Truck Bazaar. An estimated 4,000 people showed up and its been going ever since.
How do I get my truck into the bazaar?
Food truck or food cart owners (no tents or table vendors) submit photos and menus to the Producer for consideration. If there's further interest, a private tasting is conducted. Invitations are issued based on the needs of the bazaar and are at the sole discretion of the producer. What we look for: creativity, originality, fan base.

We drove all the way from Gotha to attend the food bazaar. It would be great to have one on the SW side of town! We had so much fun.
Went to Oviedo last night. It was great! Some long lines, but not bad. Food was great. Looking forward to next month, will invite more friends to join the fun.
Went for the first time. It was yummy. I walked around to every truck trying to decide which one I wanted. I wanted something from every truck so we divided up and met back at our chairs and shared plates. Won't be our last time.
I'm confused. At the top of the page it says that on August 14 the Food Truck Bazaar will be at Fashion Square, but on the side of the page in the gray it says it will be in Oviedo. Anyone know which one is correct?
Attended our first food truck bazaar at Fashion Square Mall on Aug. 21. WOW!! Food was great and weather turned out pleasant. Long lines everywhere but so worth it. Yum Yum truck has the best chocolate cupcakes; Pupusas were delicious! Crepe Company great chicken! CK Jerk Shack Island BBQ had wonderful coconut rice with pork! Had a kobe dog which was cold on the inside but will give it another chance. Lines were long and we didn't get to try as many trucks but can't wait till the next one! Food trucks ROCK!

Woops! You are correct. We recently changed the page's layout and that VERY important bit of information got left off. All events are 5-8pm. As it gets into the warmer months, we'll change to 6-9pm.

we came out on sunday night because we heard on the radio that the kona dog truck was going to be there. the other trucks were very good, but we really wanted to try the kona dog :( when we called the number on their website, the owner said that he wasn't invited. Why would you talk about it on the radio if you didn't invite them to your event?
What's the word on the next Oviedo event? There's another group holding an event in the daytime at the mall. Do they have some sort of "in" with the powers that be? Who can we contact to help y'all out? We like your trucks better!
Yes I totally agree! I loved the food truck bazaar being in Oviedo! If the Oviedo Mall or Lowes isn't available what about the old Albertson's parking lot on Alafaya & Mitchell Hammock. What can we do to help bring it back here?!
