Concert Review: Silverstein at Club Firestone

Rock band Silverstein performed on Friday, April 29 at Club Firestone. The show was part of the charity tour, Take Action Tour 2011. The Canadian band comprises of lead singer Shane Told, guitarists Neil Boshart and Josh Bradford, bass player Billy Hamilton and drummer Paul Koehler, all the original members of the band, which is a rarity for rock bands. The band was the second to the last act of the night and highly anticipated, obvious by the applause that the band received when they hit the stage. The band started their show with upbeat, hardcore song “Vices” from the band’s 2009 album A Shipwreck in the Sand. The audience jumped up and down while singing with Shane. The band did an hour-long performance, playing “Bleeds No More” from the 2003 album When Broken Is Easily Fixed,“Vices” and “Broken Stars” from A Shipwreck in the Sand, “Your Sword Versus My Dagger”, “Ides of March”, “Smile In Your Sleep” and “My Heroine” from 20…

Bike Flash Mob

Mills Stock 2011

Men Licking Men: Photos From @OrlandoImprov Festival's "A Night of Long Form"

The second incarnation of Orlando Improv Festival's A Night of Long Form was Monday, April 25, 2011at Winter Park Playhouse and boy was it a doozee as evidenced by the photos below. The audience was treated to three different long form improv formats performed by the local groups "The Early Show" and "Offsides Improv." The nightlife writer for the Orlando Sentinel, Kelly Fitzpatrick, joined the entire cast onstage for one of the formats, where she shared personal stories which then influenced a series of scenes.
