Doug Rhodehamel Latest Show Desicated All Over Orlando

The opening night party for Doug Rhodehamel's show "Desiccation" Friday February 25, 2011 at Twelve21 Gallery (1221-C N. Orange Ave.) was very well-attended. By the time we got there, half the pieces had sold and the room was packed. The boots pictured at left were sported by Rhodehamel, as the show was a collection of pieces modeled to appear as if they were rare sea specimens collected by an 1800s traveller.

The collection was a departure from Doug's normal medium, cardboard, and his tendency to create spaces filled with hundreds of similar-shaped objects. Each piece in this collection was its own entity, each unique. And most likely by the end of the night, each sold.
