Save the1941 KAST Shuffleboard Courts in Kissimmee

The City of Kissimmee is knocking down its lovely (but barely used these days) shuffleboard courts to "make way for an activity center and picnic areas." These courts are a relic from a bygone era that I feel should be preserved. I've seen them with my own eyes and they're glorious in they're "What the heck is this?"-ness and also historic: they "have been at the park longer than the monument of the states," which was begun in 1942.

The demolition is to be complete by May 2010, so go there NOW to see them before they're gone. 300 East Monument Avenue, Kissimmee, FL, Lakefront Park, corner of Johnston St. at East Monument Ave.
