It's a bit shocking how illiterate this sign is. You'd think that something cast in metal and placed as a permanent marker would be executed with a bit more care.
Now thats interesting. I didn't know private companies made these signs. They all look so official, I assumed they were created by some government entity. I'd love to make a series of random markers and place them around town. If only they were cheap.

Someone needs to buy the name "Bumby Hardware" and continue it as the oldest business (with a huge gaping hole of non-existance, but still)
I think the sign has been up for a year or so. The Bumby family was responsible for the sign's creation.
