Sacramento farmers market under overpass presents an idea for Parramore Farmers Market

I took a long walk in Sacramento in January 11, 2009 and came across this farmers market out of nowhere... underneath an overpass. There are spots underneath I-4 in downtown that are perfect for this sort of thing. Maybe Parramore Farmers Market can happen there.

The downtown farmers market used to be under I-4 and it was very successful. Once they moved it next to the library, people and vendors stopped going. (Is it even there any more?)

I was about to say the same thing Tricia! I did some research on the market for something at school. They've been looking at an urban park/permanent parket for that spot.

Its hard to walk past some areas under I-4 and not think about uses for it, especially during the hot months. All that shady space...

I'm pretty sure Jacksonville does their big farmers market under an overpass too.

I did enjoy Orlando's farmers market when it was under I-4. It was on Church, and I seem to remember them having much better vendors than the current market in Lake Eola has.

Ooh do you have pics of the Jacksonville one? Send them to me and I'll do a post about it if you (or anyone reading) has pics of it.

I haven't been, but was reading about it a few weeks ago. It looks like it's a combination weekly art show/farmers market...
