Judge Fredric Hitt to speak at Women's Club

The Last Timucuan, the final book of Judge Fredric Hitt's award-winning trilogy about early Florida Indians has been published and is available online. And yes, not only is he a published author, he's also a judge.

"The Last Timucuan carries the story of the early Florida Indians' struggle against Spanish Conquistadors to it's bitter conclusion, and has it's settings in the Timucuan territory west of the St. Johns River,the land of the Apalachee near present-day Tallahassee, the Spanish settlement at San Augustin, and on the southeast coast of Cuba where the surviving Florida Indians were taken when the Spanish abandoned their colonial aspirations in Florida."

The author will be presenting The Last Timucuan at the Winter Park Historical Society meeting at the Women's Club, 419 Interlachen Ave., Wednesday, January 14 at 2:30 p.m. Judge Hitt has been called upon to speak about his research, and his approach to writing historical fiction, close to 100 times.
