The 2009 Orlando Fringe Lottery Results
Here's the official list of the producers that were chosen at random at the drawing this week. More shows will be added to venues, so this list will, of course, change. Keep track of all Orlando Fringe Festival info on our 2009 Fringe Guide. Congrats to those who got in, and wow, look at that waiting list!

Looks about time for Fringe to expand.
It is my sincere hope, that for all the local groups on this 2009 Wait-list, they don’t shy away from producing outside of the Orlando Fringe (and at other culturally stagnant times of the year). Sure, there’s a lot more work involved; but this town doesn’t deserve to be denied the creative expression. Indy and alt-performance is vital to our emerging arts scene.
So please, local companies on the Wait-list, don’t use your Wait-list status as an easy excuse to wait until the 2010 Orlando Fringe! (Thankfully, at least a d-o-z-e-n familiar names won’t.)
Keep Orlando Hydrated.
And bravo/kudos/kubravdos to The Daily City for scooping Orlando old media, and even the Orlando Fringe website+blog on this!
Remarkable to think that, from 1,882 miles away, editor Mark Baratelli can still get the job done faster than anyone in the 32801!
(No offense, @liberatr.)
Is it time to start jurying? Seriously, I have no affiliation with any of these companies, but to see the Sport people get screwed over two years in a row, while the wretched Name Change Pending gets their awful improv show in EVERY SINGLE YEAR just makes me mad.
Luck of the draw, Christian! Or, Unluck of the draw.
Orlando Fringe will never be juried. Nor should it. Ever.
On the positive side, for the Sport people (PB&J Theatre Factory) anyway, at least they’re being presented by Garden Theatre!
So just because you don't have any affiliation with these companies it means they're not deserving or won't produce quality work? That's a little elitist.
Fringe is about taking risks... not just supporting our friends and colleagues.
If the Fringe started jurying its entries, it could no longer be a part of CAFF since it would no longer meet the criteria of being 100% uncensored, 100% non-juried, 100% accessible and giving 100% of tickets sales back to the artists.
