Each presenter is allowed 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds each – giving 6 minutes 40 seconds of fame before the next presenter is up. This keeps presentations concise, the interest level up, and gives more people the chance to show. It's built for graphic designers, but I feel the Orlando version could include any medium. A director could present 20 slides of production photos from their current theatrical production, a representative from OPAC could show renderings of the buildings, or Robyn Pedretti could show us photos of her wedding dress. Pecha Kucha (which is Japanese for the sound of conversation) has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor. This is a† demand that seems to be global – as Pecha Kucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 100 cities across the world. Find a location and join the conversation.
And what's more... Jacksonville already has their own Pecha Kucha. If it's good enough for Jacksonville....

We actually have someone from Orlando infecting the Jax PKN (that's Pecha Kucha Night for short) each month. I spoke on the history of Flordia Creatives last month, and this month we have our own Brian Feldman jumping into the fray...
This Wednesday at the Jax Art Museum if you're interested. Carpool leaves from Winter Park Village at 3PM.
Yeah I read Brian's tweet about prepping for it. What was it like when you went? And when you two get back, send links to pictures/video.
Yes, please. Do this here. I know some graphic designers that would jump on it like bubblewrap.
I posted about half of the videos from last month to my blip account. Will try to get the rest of them up soon http://orlandoscenetv.blip.tv
